Throughout my career as a Licensed Professional Counselor, I have primarily focused on helping children and youth with anxiety, depression and trauma. Some of these children and teens struggle in their family relationships, friendships, or have behavioral issues at home and/or school. They are in need of a trusted counselor who will provide empathy, teach emotional regulation skills, and other tools to help them best manage their thoughts, feelings and behaviors. They want to have more positive relationships with less conflict, better management of their anger or other difficult feelings, and hope to feel more confident in their ability to resolve conflicts with family or friends.

With over 20 years of experience, I have worked in a variety of settings including community mental health, elementary schools, residential care with teen boys and girls, and day treatment programs. I have also led groups which focused primarily on social skills, anger management, bullying, friendship, and conflict resolution skills with children ages 5 to 12. Opening Golden Horizons Counseling is a dream come true and my first time providing counseling as a private practice clinician.

I specialize in providing individual therapy for children and youth with anxiety and mood disorders, ADHD, trauma, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, parent-child conflict, grief and loss, and self-harm behaviors. I provide individual counseling with adult women seeking help with a variety of concerns including anxiety and depression, relationship issues, parenting, infertility, and grief / loss. I am also available to provide family therapy, couples counseling, and Christian counseling when requested. I offer a warm and client-centered setting, with the hope of building trust and emotional safety.

Life can be hard. Grief and loss can grip us, our child is defiant or struggling at school. Our family and/or marriage is in constant crisis with no end in sight.
